“Why MLB People Are Most Interested in the Red Sox Offseason”

The Boston Red Sox are also causing a stir this MLB offseason.

The first major steps are expected to take place in December. Boston should be aggressive and in this conversation, which Yahoo Sports MLB insider Russell Dorsey recently highlighted as a growing narrative in the industry

“When I talk to people around the game, the Red Sox are the team that people are most interested in,” Yahoo Sports MLB insider Russell Dorsey said on MLB Network’s “Hot Stove” on Monday. “Is this the year the Red Sox do something big? It’s been a while. We haven’t seen anything big since they signed Rafael Devers to the $300 million extension.”

Dorsey praised Boston for signing manager Alex Cora to a three-year extension and locking down stars Devers and Jarren Duran. The biggest question of the winter for teams eager to add stars will be Juan Soto’s free agent decision. Even if the Red Sox lose the bidding war for young talent, that shouldn’t lead to a bleak winter in Boston.

“I think there is a way for the Red Sox to have a big offseason without signing Juan Soto,” Dorsey said.

Dorsey even offered a few hypothetical scenarios in which the Red Sox could add talent to truly legitimize their roster.

The first? Sign outfielder Teoscar Hernández, sign left-handed starter Max Fried and trade him for Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams.

The second and honestly perhaps best overall move Boston could have made? Sign Hernández, trade him for Chicago White Sox standout Garrett Crochet, and sign elite left-hander Tanner Scott.

“I think a combination of a lot of things could set the Red Sox up for a big year in 2025,” Dorsey added.

Now the question is: When will the Red Sox strike for the first time?
