Showers will increase this evening/overnight and could become a wintry mix as temperatures fall

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER. We got rain, very cold temperatures and a lot happened. SMALL HOLIDAY THERE, BUT EVERYTHING FIT. SMALL HOLIDAY WITH A SMALL TRIP RIGHT AT THE AIRPORT THIS MORNING. AND THE TREND WAS PALM SPRINGS, FLORIDA, HOUSTON, VEGAS, HONOLULU. I thought: WOW, they’re doing it right. It seems like everyone here has the right idea. AND THERE ARE THREE OF US. YES. OK. THAT’S OKAY. As long as we acknowledge that. Well, it’s a good weekend. Nice vacation to stay indoors. YES. Eat a lot of food and stay comfortable. Because as you mentioned, it’s dreary and then cold as we approach the weekend. LIKE VERY COLD. YES. REALLY REALLY COLD. ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRAVEL TO SUPER SCIENTIFIC BENGALS. It’s really cold. Real cold is a very scientific term. THERE. And especially if you travel to the Bengals and Steelers game, it will be a very cold game. So we’ll get to it at some point. WE HAVE SOME RAIN RESULTS RIGHT NOW, SOME VERY LIGHT SHOWERS are moving through our region at the moment. Some of the light rain in northern Kentucky has somehow disappeared. IN PARTS OF PENDLETON, BRACKEN COUNTY, A FEW LIGHT SPREADS, BUT MOST OF THE MORE MODERATE STEADY SHOWERS are in parts of southeast Indiana near Milan, over to Manchester and Lawrenceburg, sort of on the west side of Loop 275, which right now Reached a few From that light rain in northern Boone County Heading to the Sun Man. At some point it will be there, and that will move further up through Harrison and Oceana, and eventually into parts of Hamilton Franklin Counties. All of this is, if you will, just part of an outstretched arm of the main system further west. IT’S JUST OUT OF THE PICTURE HERE, BUT THE CENTER OF LOW PRESSURE IS GOING TO MOVE ALONG THIS FRONT AND GET US THAT RAIN AS WE GO IN LATER IN THE AFTERNOON. And especially until tonight. So if you’re traveling this evening, expect some of the cold rain to increase throughout the night. AND THEN OVERNIGHT UNTIL EARLY THURSDAY. WE COULD SEE A LITTLE EARLY MIXING WITH THE RAIN THERE. ROADS SHOULD KEEP MOSTLY WET BECAUSE AS THE TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE 30S, THE SOIL TEMPERATURE AND AIR TEMPERATURE DO NOT QUITE REACH FREEZING POINT. Even if we see a little more snow fall tomorrow morning, most of it will stick around and then melt away pretty quickly. BUT IT WILL BE COLD AND CLOUDY FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. While we’re watching this on FUTURECAST, we notice that it’s raining. Now this is a little more aggressive than what we actually see. BUT IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS. BUT AS WE GO TONIGHT, ESPECIALLY AFTER SUNSET, WE WILL SEE A LOT MORE SPREADSY RAIN, MODERATE SHOWERS moving through our area, with light breezy winds at times as we go through the night. Temperatures are starting to drop a little more here and we could see some of that rain activity transition into that wintry mix. The good news is that it won’t be with us very long on Thursday, whereas we could see it in the early turkey trot on some of those five-day runs. What’s in it for you to move most of it to our east and then it’s cloudy and cool winds in our area the rest of the day. RIGHT NOW, WITH THE MID 40S IN THE FORECAST, CLOUDS WILL HELP KEEP US HERE A LITTLE LONGER UNTIL THE FRONT REALLY BEGINS TO PUSH BECAUSE WE WILL HOLD THE MID 40S HERE UNTIL NOON AND EVEN THIS EVENING WHILE THE RAIN PICKS UP JUST MOVES APPROXIMATELY MID TO LOWER 40S BY WE Get through the night with lower 30s or more upper 30s, eventually changing to the lower 30s with a northerly wind 5 to 10 mph overnight. AS WE ARRIVED ON THIS COLD THURSDAY I MENTIONED THAT THE EARLY TEMPERATURES ARE ONLY IN THE 40’S BUT THEN THEN LIGHT UP THE NIGHT UNTIL FRIDAY FOR BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING. ONLY EXPECT TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S. SATURDAY IN THE 30’S AND SUNDAY. As I mentioned, it’s a very cold day for the Bengals and Steelers, who are trailing in the mid-20s. NOT MUCH BETTER. MID TO UPPER 20S HERE THIS SUNDAY AND WE KEEP THE COLD WEATHER INTO NEXT WEEK. So go out and enjoy it. I guess the 40s while you have it
