Brooklyn Nets vs. Golden State Warriors: Match preview, betting odds

The Brooklyn Nets will look to carry the momentum gained from last night’s impressive win over the Sacramento Kings into the second act of their three-game road trip. Tonight, Brooklyn faces the Golden State Warriors and has a chance to pull off an upset for the second year in a row.

OPPORTUNITIES:

The Nets enter the day as 12.5-point underdogs of the Warriors, and the overall over/under stands at 224.5 points.

KEYS TO THE GAME:

1. Stay warm from the depths. Nobody shoots the three-ball better than Golden State. It’s been her entire identity since the arrival of Stephen Curry in 2009. If the Nets have a similar chance as they did when they beat the Kings, fans in San Francisco could be in for a shootout. Brooklyn managed 19 shots from distance last night and needs to be consistent from distance.

2. Take advantage of the interior space. The Warriors have a smaller frontcourt with Draymond Green (6-foot-6) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (6-foot-9). As Nic Claxton continues to acclimate following his brief absence due to a back injury, the Nets should look to capitalize on Golden State’s lack of size.

3. Slow down the supporting cast. Even in 2024, there is no real way to stop Curry. He can heat up at any time and completely change a fight in the warrior’s favor. Tonight will feature the supporting cast Brooklyn needs to know. Guys like Buddy Hield and Brandin Podziemski play the beneficiary when teams focus too much on Curry, a mistake the Nets can’t afford to make.
