The Liga MX Apertura quarterfinals begin on Wednesday with two games, including Club America against Toluca. Toluca is number 2, while Club America is number 7 and had to fight their way into this game through the play-in game against Tijuana.

These two teams actually met in the final game of the regular season, with Toluca claiming a 4-0 win. Jesus Gallardo, Jesus Ricardo Angulo, Paulinho and Luan Garcia all scored goals, with the last three coming in the second half.

Both teams had five shots on goal, but Toluca was simply better at converting those looks into actual goals. Club America had possession 56% of the game and had the higher passing accuracy. Can Club America avenge this week’s defeat?

Toluca finished the Apertura season with 35 points, winning 10 games with five draws and two losses. Club America had 27 points in the regular season with eight wins, three draws and six losses.
