In recent years, the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora have been at full capacity on Black Friday, with authorities temporarily closing the entrances.

Other retailers are expected to open early on Black Friday, including Kohl’s, which opens as early as 6 a.m., according to a news release. Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart will all open at 6 a.m., officials said, while Costco stores will open at 9 a.m. on Black Friday.

One store that remains closed on Black Friday is outdoor retailer REI, which has been doing so since 2015. The Seattle-based retailer is encouraging customers and employees to “get outside” instead.
