Key player suffers injury at Clippers-Wizards

Key player suffers injury at Clippers-Wizards

The Washington Wizards host the LA Clippers on Wednesday evening, looking to end their 12-game losing streak. This is the longest active losing streak in the NBA and the Wizards are in last place at 2-14.

The Wizards, the worst team in the NBA so far this season, have been truly miserable. This is despite the fact that they have some talented individual players on their team, including Kyle Kuzma. Although his efficiency has dipped somewhat this year, Kuzma entered Wednesday averaging 17.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Kuzma appeared to suffer an injury in the first half of Wednesday’s game and went straight back to the locker room. The Wizards provided an injury update shortly afterward, saying Kuzma suffered a sprained left rib and would not return to the game.

This is a tough blow for a Wizards team that certainly can’t afford to lose one of its top players. Washington held firm for most of the first half and was able to keep the game close despite James Harden scoring 23 points in the first quarter.

Harden spent most of Washington’s run on the bench as LA’s lead grew again as the star point guard came back into the game. Harden finished the first half with 31 points, which is not only his best half of the season, but also gives him his first 30-point total game of the season.
