Suri Cruise was spotted grabbing coffee in Brooklyn as she returned to her mother, Katie Holmes, in New York City for the Thanksgiving break on Sunday.

The 18-year-old, whose father is the world film star Tom Cruise, is currently studying at the renowned Carnegie Mellon art university in Pittsburgh.

Tom reportedly sends money for her college tuition but has not been seen with his daughter in more than a decade amid alleged estrangement.

However, Suri maintains a warm bond with Katie, whom she visited in the Big Apple just last month during her fall break from college.

Now the showbiz legacy is back in the city that never sleeps to ring in the start of the holiday season with her mother on Thursday.

On Wednesday, she found time for a solo trip to the outskirts, showing up in Brooklyn in a cozy outfit, including a thick olive green anorak.

That same day, Katie was spotted heading to Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theater to continue her performance in a revival of Our Town.

Thornton Wilder’s classic play originally premiered in 1938 and is now performed with a cast including Jim Parsons and Zoey Deutch.

Spotted heading to work on Thursday, Katie demonstrated her reliably successful street style by layering a sleek black coat over a flamboyantly collared sweater.

Her revival of “Our Town” premiered at the Ethel Barrymore Theater last month to a lukewarm critical response.

Suri began college this fall after graduating from New York’s famed LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts earlier this year.

The high school that supposedly inspired the movie “Fame” has produced its fair share of celebrities over the years.

Notable alumni range from Al Pacino and Liza Minnelli to Jennifer Aniston and Adrien Brody to newer faces like Ansel Elgort and Timothee Chalamet.

After graduating from high school, Suri now lives in Pittsburgh and attends Carnegie Mellon, where she is reportedly leaning toward studying fashion.

“She’s a smart girl and is growing into a very intelligent, mature young woman,” an insider recently told DailyMail.com. “She has a very close circle of loyal friends and knows exactly where she comes from.”

Suri’s mother, on the other hand, was “overwhelmed” by the prospect of her moving away. “Katie is very proud of her but also extremely overprotective,” a source shared.

Katie, who rose to fame on teen drama Dawson’s Creek, began dating Tom in 2005 and got engaged seven weeks into the relationship.

Their Scientologist wedding took place in November 2006 at the Castello Orsini-Odescalchi in Bracciano, seven months after Suri’s birth.

Katie filed for divorce in 2012, which was finalized just ten days later. Katie retained sole custody of Suri, while Tom was granted visitation via People.

Ron Miscavige, father of Scientology leader David Miscavige, told MailOnline in 2016 that Katie’s concerns about Scientology – including the possible impact on Suri – contributed to her decision to leave Tom.

The Top Gun Maverick star is said to have paid Katie $400,000 a year until Suri’s 18th birthday and will now send money towards her college tuition.

Tom hasn’t been pictured with his daughter for 11 years and in 2018 it was claimed he had created distance between him and Suri.

“Everyone is allowed to see their child if they want,” an insider told Us Weekly. “He decides against it because she’s not a Scientologist.”
