The Warriors lose to the Thunder 105-101, with Curry out with soreness in both knees

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points, Jalen Williams left late in the first half with a right eye injury and the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Curry-less Golden State Warriors 105-101 on Wednesday night.

Andrew Wiggins made it a one-point game with a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left. After Gilgeous-Alexander missed a free throw on the other end, Wiggins was blocked by Luguentz Dort on a game-winning layup.

Gilgeous-Alexander continued his 37-point performance in Monday’s 130-109 win in Sacramento and shot 13 for 28 in a third straight win over Oklahoma City (14-4).

Kuminga returned from a two-game early absence due to illness and scored a team-high 19 points for the Warriors (12-6), who were missing Stephen Curry because of soreness in both knees.

Williams was injured when Jonathan Kuminga dunked over him with 39 seconds left in the first half. The Thunder star limped to the locker room and did not return after he was seen with an ice pack on his eye area at halftime.

Thunder: Oklahoma City scored 15 points off Golden State’s 11 turnovers in the first half.

Warriors: Golden State fell to 3-1 without Curry this season, beating the Pelicans twice and Houston when the two-time MVP missed time with a left foot injury.

Draymond Green received a technical foul with 5:40 left in the second quarter, marking his sixth technical foul of the season. Sixteen technical errors automatically result in a one-game suspension.

Golden State’s Buddy Hield finished the game 5-for-8 from deep – passing Dirk Nowitzki (1,982) for 18th place on the NBA’s all-time 3-point list and just trailing Jason Kidd (1,988) for 17th . Place.

The Thunder continue their four-game trip Friday night at the Lakers, and Golden State begins a quick two-game trip at Phoenix on Saturday.
