Katie Holmes takes notes from Generation Z in her street style. While the Dawson’s Creek Alum has recently gravitated towards jewel-toned statement silks and eclectic accessories and is best known for her undeniably appealing regular slim weekender fashion. And her latest off-duty ensemble looks like she raided her daughter Suri Cruise’s closet on Monday as she stepped out in the generation’s favorite shoes.

Nothing epitomizes Gen Z style like white Air Force 1 sneakers paired with extremely baggy jeans, and Holmes left her Gen-X classics behind as she stepped out in the trendy combination. The style icon has ditched her usual effortlessly casual fashion in recent weeks for a number of fashion risks, like the silk slip skirt she wore under a blue striped dad-style shirt and the patchwork jeans that Exuded art teacher vibes. However, on November 25, Holmes returned to her favorite low-lift outfit and stepped out in a suave look that also fit the Gen-Z definition of cop-worthy.

Upon her arrival at the Barrymore Theater for her performance Our cityHolmes showed off the comfortable white sneakers that peeked out from beneath the oversized silhouette of her dark-wash jeans. The real star of her Monday outfit, however, was her versatile yet subtly luxurious winter outerwear: a mid-length black suede coat with wide lapels that revealed a glimpse of a black knit sweater underneath at the double-breasted neckline, effortlessly elevating Holmes’ entire outfit.

She held her signature Starbucks Christmas coffee in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other. She accessorized with oversized aviator sunglasses and a distressed slate gray baseball cap. Her pebble-colored Manu Atelier Le Cambon 35 Silk Gray Nubuck Bag — a $745 design that she also wore just two days earlier with forest green silk pajama pants, bright turquoise socks, and a black teddy coat. As Gen Z would say: Consider me influenced.
