According to the report, Epic sued Google and Apple in August 2020, claiming they had blocked competition for rival app stores.

In the case against Google, the jury decided in December 2023 that the company had violated Google Antitrust law by entering into revenue-sharing agreements with device makers that block competing app stores, the report said.

In October, the judge ordered Google to address these violations by allowing developers to build App marketplaces and offer consumers outside billing options from Google’s system, the report says.

According to the Bloomberg report on Wednesday, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco is scheduled to hear oral arguments on Google’s appeal on February 3.
