Today’s top weather news: A strong coast-to-coast storm disrupts Thanksgiving travel

A coast-to-coast winter storm is bringing heavy snow and wreaking havoc on Thanksgiving travel

Millions of Americans around the world US have begun to fill the streets and airports before us thanksgivingbut a strong storm moving from coast to coast could confuse travel ahead Vacation and when people begin their journey home after celebrating with Family and friends.

In the first half of the week there will be storms that will dump rain and mountains Snow in the westwhile the eastern half of the country struggles with rain, icy rain and snow.

As if that wasn’t enough to dampen the holiday spirit, the FOX Forecast Center is tracking another one winter Storm that could significantly impact travel in the Northeast as millions of people could be affected prepare go home.

The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is coming to an end and is one of the costliest hurricanes of all time

The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season was marked by an unusual pattern of storm development, but despite the damage, seasonal activity was below what forecasters had expected.

Between June 1 and late November, 18 named storms formed across the basin, 11 of which became hurricanes and five of which strengthened into major hurricanes. Eight hurricanes made landfall, five of which hit the United States

Initial damage estimates are around $200 billion, making 2024 the second most expensive season ever, although the season fell short of previous season expectations.

Storm Bert leaves at least four people dead in the UK due to flooding, heavy rain and strong winds

The UK is at risk of further flooding after Storm Bert caused major travel delays on Monday. A small and fast-moving storm will bring more rain to England and Wales from Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the FOX Forecast Center.

This came after Storm Bert brought wind, flooding, ice and snow over the weekend. At least four deaths are reportedly attributed to the storm.

Storm Bert endured a bumpy ride as National Police Air Service (NPAS) pilots flew over London. Footage from NPAS London shows the airborne conditions on Sunday evening.

“For those who asked us what it was like to fly in this wind,” the caption read.

According to the Met Office, Bert brought winds of up to 75mph and rainfall accumulations of up to 130mm over the weekend.
