Jude Law broke some hearts by sharing some behind-the-scenes insights into the classic film The Holiday.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio, Law spoke about the 2006 Christmas film that many consider a must-see every winter holiday season. In the romantic comedy he plays Cameron Diaz’s lover and Kate Winslet’s brother.

“I just think it’s lovely, honestly,” Law said of “The Holiday’s” long-standing popularity with audiences.

Then he came up with some surprising information when one of the hosts asked if he could possibly rent a stay in the cozy cottage that features prominently in the film.

“This cottage doesn’t exist,” Law replied, causing the people in the room to gasp.

According to the actress, the film’s director, Nancy Meyers, is “a bit of a perfectionist.”

“She traveled all over the area and didn’t quite find the chocolate cottage she was looking for,” he remembers. “So she just rented a field, drew it and had someone build it.”

The cottage interior scenes weren’t even filmed in the picturesque English countryside.

“We shot here in the winter,” the actor said of filming part of “The Holiday” in the UK. “Every time I walked through that door, we would edit and shoot the interior scenes in LA about three months later.”

Create even more consternation among those present at the conversation, including one person who said, “We don’t want to hear any more!” You’re ruining it!”

“Just burst the bubble,” Law said, “I’m sorry!”

This is what it’s like to be a Grinch, Jude Law!
