Bravo will officially welcome back its hit franchise Vanderpump Rules for a 12th season – albeit with a completely new cast.

The channel announced the renewal of the popular reality show – which follows the previous one Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump, 64, and the staff at her local restaurant and bar — on Tuesday (November 26).

“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary series filled with laughter, tears and everything in between,” Vanderpump said in a statement. “I can’t thank those who shared their lives enough. How I love you all. In the catering industry, one layer always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation Vanderpump Rules.

“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all again,” added executive producer Alex Baskin. “With great appreciation for the original group and their legendary run, we can’t wait for audiences to see a dynamic new group of colleagues and friends make their way through life together.”

A spin-off from RHOBH, Vanderpump Rules debuted at her West Hollywood mainstay SUR Restaurant & Lounge in 2013 with Vanderpump’s then-employees: Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and Stassi Schroeder. Over the years, the cast grew to include Tom Schwartz, Ariana Madix, James Kennedy, Lala Kent and Brittany Cartwright.

In March 2023, after a decade on the air, the series made headlines when stars Sandoval, 42, and Madix, 39, announced they were divorcing after their nearly decade-long marriage was disrupted by Sandoval’s affair with co-star Rachel Leviss (Kennedy’s ex-fiancée).

Leviss later posted an apology on her Instagram, saying: “I want to apologize for my actions and my decisions to Ariana, my friends and the fans who have invested so much in our relationships. “There is no excuse, I am not a victim and must take responsibility for my actions. I deeply regret hurting Ariana.

“I have sought emotional validation through intimate relationships that, without regard for my own well-being, are not healthy, sometimes negatively impact others, and often prioritize intimate connection over my friendships. I’m taking steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices,” she added.

The cheating scandal eventually led to controversy within the cast, as some staff members were reportedly upset that Madix refused to film scenes with Sandoval. Bravo then announced that the series, whose 11th season just ended last month, would be taking an extended break before filming the new 12th season.

addressing Vanderpump Rules“Pause,” Bravo star Andy Cohen said on his See what’s happening live Talk show in May: “People forget that we picked up a few cameras three months after (Madix) found out about this affair, so she’s still in the intense anger phase and you can understand that, that’s why I always think it’s great.” .

“Look, sometimes you want to quickly pick up the camera because something is happening and you want to be there right away, and sometimes you want people to live their lives and see how things turn out, and you know “So, I think that’s a “Very good idea,” he said of the break.
