After a 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium – a moment that marked a new low for the New York Giants – nothing will change.

Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters Monday morning that it will be business as usual in East Rutherford, and that includes game planning.

“As far as our preparation goes, we’re sticking with the status quo here, especially in this short week. But we definitely have to do a better job,” said Daboll.

The Giants are last in the NFL with an average of 14.8 points per game. That’s down from 15.6 points per game last season, when associate head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka was calling the shots.

But that won’t be the only thing that stays the same. Daboll added that quarterback Tommy DeVito, if healthy enough, will remain the team’s starter.

“Yes, of course I have to talk to the coaching staff, I’m confident. But I don’t know, I haven’t spoken to the coaching staff,” he said.

“I haven’t spoken to the coaching staff yet. So I’ll wait until they give me the update, then we’ll see where we stand. But I expect he will be ready to go.”

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results… There’s a word for that.
