Monday evening

Ladd McConkey, WR, Chargers (Shoulder) – Active
McConkey was able to practice on a limited basis on Friday, but is active for Monday Night Football. In Weeks 10 and 11 combined, Will Dissly led the Chargers with 12 targets; McConkey had 11, Quentin Johnston saw 10 and Joshua Palmer was targeted six times. Jake Ciely has McConkey as WR18 and Johnston as WR23 this week.

Rashod Bateman, WR, Ravens (Knee) – Active
Bateman did not practice on Friday due to a knee injury but will be active in Week 12. While many thought that Diontae Johnson’s arrival in Baltimore could have an impact on Bateman’s goals, that is not the case. Since joining the Ravens in Week 9, Johnson has had just four total targets and one reception, and his highest PPR total in Baltimore is 1.6. During that time, Bateman had 11 receptions on 17 targets. He scored 17.4 PPR points in Week 10, but only scored 5 PPR points in Weeks 9 and 11.

Monday evening

Baltimore Ravens (7-4) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (7-3)

  • Venue: SoFi Stadium – Inglewood, California.
  • Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
  • TV: ESPN, ABC
  • Streaming: Fubo (try for free)

After a tough Week 11 loss to the Steelers, the Ravens hold a road advantage of less than a field goal against the Chargers in this AFC matchup, which marks the first time head coaches Jim and John Harbaugh have met since Super Bowl XLVII. The Jim Harbaugh-led Chargers have been on the rise lately. Justin Herbert throws more and ranks sixth in passer rating (102.1), JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards handle the backfield work, and Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston lead the Chargers’ wide receivers in targets and receiving catching yards and yards.

Lamar Jackson had an MVP season for Baltimore (aside from last week’s poor performance), but Derrick Henry has regressed lately with fewer than 80 net yards in three of his last four games. Zay Flowers continues to impress (if somewhat inconsistently), while Diontae Johnson has become a fantasy drop, averaging two goals and 0.5 balls per game. The Chargers’ defense is tough and Tuli Tuipulotu has led the NFL with six sacks over the last three weeks, but Jackson has the third-most throwing time in the league. This duel between the Harbaugh brothers is full of talent and intrigue.

Takeaways from Week 12 of fantasy football

Michael Salfino summarizes Week 12’s action from a fantasy lens.

Jayden Daniels had another good game, scoring three touchdowns, fueled largely by a late miracle play. But I don’t understand why he’s such a strong favorite for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award Bo Nix. Nix has the same record as Daniels, having 16 touchdown passes and just two picks in his last nine games, along with two games with at least 61 rushing yards.

Jaylen Waddle punished us for putting him on the bench, although hopefully the byes forced you to do so. But now we have one Tyreek Hill Problem. His pace in 17 games in 2024: 76-882-5. Yikes.

De’Von Achane is averaging 4.3 yards per carry, something his supporters would have found unimaginable in August. However, the catches and five receiving TDs made him worthy of his ADP anyway. I will finish this reception production in 2025, you can be sure.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Recap

KC Joyner answers lingering questions about Week 12 fantasy football.

Can Saquon Barkley break the all-time record for RB points in a season? He could come closer.

Barkley scored an incredible 46.2 points against the Rams on Sunday night. It was just the ninth time since the 2020 season that a running back scored 46 or more points in a game. He now leads the league with over 32 points for two consecutive weeks. He and Derrick Henry are the only running backs to have consecutive performances of over 30 PPR points this season.

This incredible generosity makes one wonder if Barkley can break LaDainian Tomlinson’s record for RB fantasy points in a season. Tomlinson hit 481.1 in a 16-game season with the San Diego Chargers in 2006.

Barkley currently has 265.9 points, meaning he needs to score at least 215.3 points in the Eagles’ remaining six games to break Tomlinson’s record. Some quick math shows that this equates to a pace of 35.9 points per game, a number that Barkley has only exceeded once this year (Sunday night against the Rams).

There’s evidence that Barkley can’t break that record, but the Eagles still have four green-rated rush defenses left in those six games. If Barkley can get a few 40+ point games (a difficult but not impossible feat), he still has a great chance of overtaking LT for the best RB season in fantasy football history.
