Jimmy Fallon Reveals Injury at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (Exclusive)

Jimmy Fallon won’t let anything stop him from attending the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

After several years of riding a float with The Roots during New York City’s annual parade, the 50-year-old comedian says the performances seemed to have taken a toll on his body.

Fallon tells PEOPLE that after noticing pain in his elbow last year, he made a trip to the doctor to see what was wrong.

“(The doctor) said, ‘I think you have golfer’s elbow,’ and I said, ‘That’s not possible.’ I don’t really play much golf – I go four, five times a year or something – I go, but maybe I think I got it from waving,” Fallon says in an interview about his recent collaboration with Alex Mill and his new one album Christmas spice.

“I think I got it from waving on the float,” he says of taking part in the three-hour parade route.

“I think maybe the Queen (of England) had this disease,” he jokes, adding: “I’m one of the few people who has an elbow, but I’ve had it for a year and I still have it .” It still hurts.

Fallon made his first appearance in the parade in 2009 on the Gibson Guitars float and has since returned eight times on different floats.

To kick off this year’s holiday season, Fallon and his family appeared in the new campaign for his P’Jimmies collaboration with Alex Mill. The adorable photos feature Fallon, Juvonen, 57, and their daughters Winnie, 11, and Frances, 9, posing in the colorful pajamas he helped design.
