Jonathan Kuminga questionable, Ben Simmons out for Warriors vs. Nets

Jonathan Kuminga questionable, Ben Simmons out for Warriors vs. Nets

The Golden State Warriors are back in action tonight and are looking to recover from Saturday’s defeat against the San Antonio Spurs. The Dubs have yet to lose consecutive games this season, and they will look to keep that trend going when they host the Brooklyn Nets.

Brooklyn limps into Chase Center, so the Warriors have a pretty big advantage health-wise. Here is the full injury report for both teams.

Out of — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL sprain)

I’ve only had to write this a few times since news of Melton’s season-ending surgery broke, but it’s already making me sad.

Questionable — Jonathan Kuminga (illness)

Kuminga missed Saturday’s game due to illness and there is a risk he will miss this game too. Hopefully it will be back to 100% soon.

Out of — Ben Simmons (lower back injury treatment)

The Nets are desperately trying to get their All-Star back on track after a few lost years. After receiving MVP votes, finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting, and making the All-Star team for the 2020-21 season (with the 76ers), Simmons has completely fallen off. Over the next three years, he played in just 57 games and averaged 6.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per contest. He’s been a little healthier this year and this will be his fifth absence this season, but the numbers are still consistent with his decline, not his rise to stardom.

Out of — Bojan Bogdanović (recovering from left foot injury)

Bogdanović has set the Dubs on fire a few times, but he won’t be able to do that tonight. He has not yet made his season debut.

Out of — Dorian Finney-Smith (left ankle sprain)

Finney-Smith found a nice home in Brooklyn and was a key part of the team’s starting lineup as long as he was healthy. But he missed the Nets’ win yesterday, and he’ll miss this game, too.

Out of — Noah Clowney (left ankle sprain)

After playing in just 23 games last year, the 2023 first-round pick (No. 21 overall) has been a solid contributor in his second season away from Brooklyn’s bench. But every basketball player will experience an ankle sprain at some point.

Out of — Day’Ron Sharpe (left hamstring strain)

Sharpe has not yet made his Season 4 debut, but his release to play is getting closer and closer.

Questionable — Dennis Schrōder (right ankle pain)

Schrōder has earned a big role in Brooklyn, where he is averaging 34.3 minutes per game and his highest points per game (17.2) since the 2019-20 season. Even if he’s not a star, I always enjoy watching Schrōder and Steph Curry fight, even though we may not get to see it tonight.

Probably — Trendon Watford (recovering from left hamstring strain)

Watford missed the first 13 games of the season but featured in the last four. If he stays fit tonight it will be his first back-to-back appearance of the season.

And this is the injury report. Have fun playing, Dub Nation!
