Lakers vs. Spurs Preview: Injury Report, TV Stream, Watch

After suffering their third straight loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, the Lakers will travel to San Antonio overnight to face the Spurs on Wednesday. This will be the second time these two teams have met as both squads face each other for the second night in a row.

Start time and TV program

WHO: Los Angeles Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs

When: 5:30 p.m. PT, November 27th

Where: Frost Bank Center

Regard: Spectrum SportsNet

The last time these two teams faced off was less than two weeks ago, when LA left the Frost Bank Center with a win. It was the first NBA Cup game for both teams, so it was one that, as expected, featured Anthony Davis and Victor Wembanyama. AD’s 40 points proved to be too much for the rising second-year superstar.

I mentioned AD’s brilliance in this game because that’s exactly the formula they’ll need again on Wednesday against the Spurs, along with some help from LeBron James, Austin Reaves and the rest of the team desperately needed on both ends have to show up on the ground – contrary to what they did against the Suns.

Currently, the Lakers and Spurs are trending in opposite directions. LA has lost three straight, while San Antonio has won four straight, including Tuesday’s NBA Cup win over the Utah Jazz. The Purple and Gold’s desperation to break this losing spiral they are currently in must be more obvious than the Spurs’ willingness to continue their winning streak.

For the Lakers to do that, they might want to control the paint again, like they did last time when they limited the Spurs to just 44 points inside, compared to their 50. The Lakers challenged the Spurs from distance to shoot, which was a good game plan considering they rank 17th in 3-point percentage. Spurs made just 37.8% of their threes and no one other than Wemby had more than four goals.

All in all, what this game will come down to for the Lakers is how much fight and pride they really have. It’s unfortunate that I mention these 17 games this season, but that’s been the theme so far, especially in this three-game losing streak. They were really bad in the third quarter and folded every time their opponents made a run. This must change as quickly as possible before it is too late again.

Let’s see if the Lakers are as sick as we fans who watch themselves lose and react correctly on Wednesday against the Spurs.

Notes and updates

  • An injury report has not been released for either team since their game on Tuesday. However, note that Jaxson Haynes (ankle) had to be carried to the locker room in the fourth quarter.
  • For the Lakers, we can expect regular players Jarred Vanderbilt (recovering from right foot surgery) and Christian Wood (recovering from left knee surgery) to be out.
  • We’ll be live on playback for this game, so be sure to join us!
