Meghan Markle has released a statement following her appearance at a Thanksgiving event last week without husband Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly in the midst of a professional breakup. Their working relationship is reportedly “in a very bad state.”

In fact, both the 43-year-old Suits alum and 40-year-old Harry have been spotted at various solo events in recent months.

Markle recently hosted an intimate dinner for the Southern California Welcome Project through the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation.

However, her husband did not attend the event.

The former actress has since released a statement on her Archewell website following the Thanksgiving event, discussing the “warm dinner” she hosted for Afghan women with her partner organization Mina’s List.

“This initiative has spent the past year building community through storytelling and creating a safe space for women resettled from Afghanistan to the United States,” the statement said.

“The evening included a shared meal that encouraged open conversations about gratitude and resilience.”

Markle “expressed her deep appreciation to participants for sharing their personal stories and cultural experiences,” the statement continued, adding that she plans to host future gatherings.

“The dinner was held at Our Place, founded by Shiza Shahid, where attendees were gifted new cookware for the upcoming holiday season,” Markle shared in his statement.

The Duchess “remains committed to empowering women and fostering community through shared experiences, emphasizing the importance of unity and support in difficult times,” it concluded.

Harry attended a series of Invictus Games-related events in Vancouver last week, while Markle was spotted alongside her celebrity friends at a beauty launch event without her husband.

However, the pair appeared in a joint video earlier this month in honor of Veterans Day – with Harry admitting the couple had been at a “crossroads” professionally in recent weeks.

In their joint video appearance, the two discussed prioritizing children’s online safety through their Archewell Foundation. It was the first time they had been seen together in months.

The duo is expected to compete in the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada, taking place February 8-16. The event will take place 18 months after the 2023 event in Germany.

At last year’s Games, Markle hinted that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, might appear at the next event.
