Real Madrid coach Ancelotti is accused of “negligence” towards Vinicius Jr.

Real Madrid coach Ancelotti is accused of “negligence” towards Vinicius Jr.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has been accused of negligence and mistreatment of his now-injured winger Vinicius Jr. during some corner kicks in Spain.

Through an official statement released shortly after midday in the Spanish capital on Monday, Madrid confirmed that their winger had suffered a setback after playing 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Leganes the day before.

“Following the tests carried out today by the Real Madrid medical service on our player Vini Jr., he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg,” read an official statement on the matter.

Although the club did not give an expected time frame for recovery, MARCA put it at a month.

That means Vinicius will definitely miss the must-win clash with 2021/2022 UCL final opponents Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday, in addition to another clash on the continent with Europa League winners Atalanta.

In the league he will probably have to miss meetings against Getafe, Athletic Club, Girona and Rayo Vallecano, but hopes to be back in time for the Intercontinental Cup at the end of December.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Vinicius pointed to football’s “crazy calendar” for his recent injury setback.

Elsewhere, however, others condemn Ancelotti for “negligence” with the Ballon d’Or runner-up, as highlighted by SPORT.

So far this season, Vinicius has played a total of 22 games for club and country. He has played the full 90 minutes in seven of eight games since October 9, while he still had 75 minutes to his name when he scored a hat-trick against Osasuna on the eve of the international break in November.

With Endrick, Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz always ready to step up when Ancelotti takes out Vinicius or even rests him, the Italian will need to manage his number 7’s playing time better as the season progresses.

In his absence until almost the end of the year, Mbappe could take his place on the left while Endrick is the central target player.

Or in another tactical constellation: Mbappé plays up front with Arda or Brahim in a 4-4-2, while Jude Bellingham has a false 9.
