NEW YORK – Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail.

The hip-hop mogul and founder of Bad Boy Records has been held in a federal prison in Brooklyn since his arrest in September on sex trafficking and extortion charges and has already been denied bail twice despite offering $50 million.

Prosecutors had accused Combs of trying to influence witnesses and intimidate victims behind bars and said he would be a flight risk if he were released. They also told the court that his reliance on his vast fortune in his bail application could amount to a “two-tier” justice system if his proposal was accepted. The mogul paid a private security company to monitor him while he was under house arrest and monitor some of his communications.

Earlier this week, prominent bail bondsman Ira Judelson was seen at the courthouse attending one of Combs’ hearings.

The judge on Monday ordered federal prosecutors to delete images of Combs’ handwritten notes taken during a search of his jail cell – which his lawyers said were protected by attorney-client privilege and were wrongfully seized. Excerpts from those notes, which prosecutors had previously referred to, could not be used at the bail hearing, the judge added.

The quotes in question referred to “smearing” at least two potential witnesses.

Prosecutors also alleged that releasing Combs could endanger victims and witnesses. Despite the staggering sum offered by the defense, the judge had so far kept the hip-hop icon behind bars.

According to court documents, prosecutors accuse him of a long history of obstruction, encouraging witnesses and subordinates to intercede on his behalf and abusing both sexual partners and personal staff.

“Former employees described how the defendant threatened to kill them, threw objects at them, and how he was punched, punched, and pushed by the defendant and saw him do the same to others,” prosecutors alleged. “This significant history of violence must be taken into account when considering the defendant’s obstructive activities. Overall, there is no doubt that the government has established defendant’s dangerousness through clear and convincing evidence.”

After being denied bail twice following an arrest in September, Combs renewed his quest for freedom last week with a new bail proposal that called for the same sum of $50 million, secured by his Miami Beach mansion, according to His lawyers say it is worth about $48 million.

Prosecutors previously charged “serious concerns” about the safety of victims and witnesses if Combs were released, and the judge overseeing his criminal case rejected his sweeping request for a gag order that would have prevented additional accusers from coming forward.

A trial is scheduled for May 5 next year. By then, the U.S. attorney overseeing his case could be replaced by President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee, former Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton.

Federal authorities began their investigation in November 2023, around the time his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, the singer known as Cassie, sued Combs for physical and sexual abuse. He settled her civil lawsuit the day after she filed it.

Combs vehemently denied the allegations made by Ventura and all other accusers. Then, a Video leaked – shows the nearly naked billionaire brutally attacking her in the hallway of the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

New accusers have continued to come forward over the past year, and Texas attorney Tony Buzbee said in October that he now represents more than 100 people who want to sue the rapper.
