Sharon Stone, a vocal supporter of 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, criticized American politics while attending the Turin Film Festival in Italy.

During a panel discussion, Stone, 66, was asked for her thoughts on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which the award-winning actress said was “a big” question to think about.

“We need to stop and think about who we elect to govern,” Stone said, in a thinly veiled dig at President-elect Trump. “And whether we actually elect our government or whether the government elects itself.

“You know, Italy has seen fascism. Italy has seen these things, people. And you understand what is happening. You’ve seen this before.”

Stone, who accepted the Stella della Mole Lifetime Achievement Award, added that Americans have never seen these events in the country before.

“So Americans who don’t travel, who 80% don’t have passports, who are uneducated, are extraordinarily naive,” she said. “I would say that we can only help with these problems if we help each other.”

She rejected the idea that only “women should help women, because that is the only way we have survived so far.”

Instead, Stone said, “We need to say that good men need to help good men, and those good men need to be very aware that many of their friends are not good men.”
