The Great Debate: Who Has the Better Pumpkin Pie? Sam’s Club or Costco? We put them to the (taste) test.

IDAHO FALLS – It’s a question on everyone’s mind this Thanksgiving: Who has the better pumpkin pie? Sam’s Club or Costco?

Ok – maybe that’s just something on our minds this holiday season.

The cakes are very popular, extremely tasty and fly off the shelves every year.

Pumpkin pies from Costco and Sam’s Club are a Thanksgiving staple for many. Both stand nearly 12 inches tall and weigh almost four pounds—and they cost less than $6 each ($5.99 for the Kirkland Signature Pie at Costco, $5.98 for the Member’s Mark Pie at Sam’s club).

Sam’s Club describes its seasonal dessert as “a classic pumpkin pie with a flaky crust and a balanced filling of brown sugar, 100% pumpkin puree, and just the right amount of cinnamon and spices. It’s the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving or Christmas feast!”

According to The Daily Meal, Costco began selling its pumpkin pie in 1987, and a Costco fan Facebook page features a guest who purchased over 90 pies during the holiday season.

So which cake tastes better? Sam’s or Costco? The East Idaho News team decided to try them out and judge for themselves. Check out the very unscientific results in the video player above and let us know which cake you like better in the comments below.

Happy Thanksgiving!
