When do Black Friday sales end? Everything you need to know

Whether it’s in your inbox, in stores or on your social media feeds, you can’t miss out on Black Friday getting underway this week. With huge deals and discounts worth exploring, now is a great time to start your holiday shopping or invest in that expensive item you’ve been eyeing.

But what exactly is Black Friday and when do the sales actually end? We have all the details you need to know.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is an annual sales event during which many retailers slash their prices and discount everything from kitchen essentials to beauty products. It begins on the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US, the busiest shopping day of the year across the pond. The discounts often last throughout the weekend and Cyber Monday.

Some stores may open early and close late, and in the past people have even camped out overnight to get the best deals on the products they want. Luckily, you can shop from the comfort of your couch and score great savings online.

When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday falls this year Friday, November 29th, with Cyber Monday December 2nd.

However, as the sales event gets bigger every year, many brands have already started their Black Friday sales so you can get in on the action early.

When do Black Friday 2024 sales end?

Black Friday sales typically run throughout the weekend and most end at midnight (or 11:59 a.m., to be precise) on Monday, December 2nd (also known as Cyber Monday). That gives you four days to grab your favorite savings.

Some brands even offer free gifts when you spend a certain amount on the weekend. So it’s worth taking a look at the offers to secure a stocking or a gift for yourself this Christmas.

And while most deals will end at midnight on Monday, others will roll over into what’s known as Cyber Week, which lasts well into the first week of December. So do your research to see if you are interested in a particular retailer.

Are Black Friday deals really good value?

If you’re not convinced the savings are as good as they look, it’s worth doing some research. For example, if you want to buy something on Amazon, you go to camelcamelcamel.com, which will show you the entire price history of the product on the site. Comparison sites like PriceSpy show you the cheapest site to buy a product from, and Google Shopping compares prices from different retailers.
